Landfill Disposal Permit
As part of the Host Community Agreement with C&C Landfill, Convis Township Residents are able to obtain a FREE Landfill Disposal Permit. This permit allows residents to bring in home generated waste (not to exceed a level pick-up load) once per week to the landfill. Permits are available at the landfill office with proof of residency. The landfill also provides a location to deposit recyclable materials free of change within the landfill grounds.
Tip for using the compactor
Do not put bagged recycling in the C&C Landfill Recycling Compactor. All recycling must be loose, so it can be sorted. Bagged recycling is often thrown out at Material Recovery Facilities where it is sorted.
At the landfill: After obtaining a program card, participants should stop at the landfill’s scale house to verify their residency each visit. Residents may bring a load of recycling equivalent to what can be held in a 96-gallon cart per visit. All materials must be empty, clean and dry.
Plastic: plastic jugs/bottles (#1-#2) and household plastic (#3-#7)
Metal: aluminum cans and steel, and tin cans
Glass: clear and colored glass
C&C Landfill Scholarship
As part of the Township’s Community Host Agreement with C&C Landfill, the landfill funds a scholarship program for Convis Township resident high school seniors. Each year, three four-year scholarships are awarded to applicants who are residents of Convis Township, and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. The amount of the scholarship is adjusted each year for inflation with the current amount being over $5000 for each of the four-year periods ($20,000). Applications can be picked up at the C&C Landfill office and must be returned no later than May 1st.
